PLEASE NOTE: The Harland Foundation will have two grant cycles in 2024. The deadline for submission of Letters of Inquiry will be Wednesday, January 10th, with decisions to be made in late spring and Thursday, August 8th, with decisions to be made in late fall.

The Harland Charitable Foundation was established in 1972 by John H. and Wilhelmina D. Harland to support worthy local causes in Atlanta, with a particular interest in improving the welfare of children and youth as well as support of community services and arts and culture.

Today, the trustees and staff of the Harland Foundation endeavor to base their decisions on the principles and values of Mr. and Mrs. Harland, taking the wealth derived from the Harland family’s success and investing it in the community in ways that improve the quality of life for many.

MISSION

The mission of the Harland Charitable Foundation is to support effective, well-led organizations that enhance opportunities for low-income children and youth, respond to critical community needs and foster a vibrant arts culture. The majority of our grantmaking focuses on City of Atlanta and DeKalb County (Georgia) where the Foundation’s history lies.
